PTA

Founded over one hundred years ago on a simple idea-to improve the lives and futures of all of our children. Today, PTA is the largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the country. Members represent the ethnic diversity of the nation, and come from traditional families, single-parent households, blended families, grandparents, and other caring adults. Through hard work and perseverance, policies and laws are in place to protect children-public education, the creation of kindergarten classes, child labor laws, public health/immunizations programs and hot lunch programs  (PTA History) . PTA founders understood the power of the individual and took action that literally changed the world. We encourage you to join them and get involved!

Willow PTA Annual Membership is only $10.00 per person.

You Can Make a Difference!

Parent involvement is an integral component of student achievement. Research clearly demonstrates a major predictor of a student's achievement in school is not income or social status but the extent to which that student's family is able to become involved in their children's education at school and in the community and Willow is a wonderful community. When parents are involved, students achieve more and exhibit more positive attitudes and show higher aspirations and motivation toward school.  Your child's educational experience is the result of a collaborative partnership.

How To Get Involved:

  1. JOIN THE PTA. Willow PTA Annual Membership is only $6 per person.  You do not have to volunteer to be a member. Membership gives you have a voice in the decisions that are being made for your children. Willow holds three Association Meetings per school year, which will be posted on the school calendar.  During these meetings Willow's PTA Association votes on the budget, activities, and officer positions.  It is also a way to stay informed on what is happening throughout the year.
  2. VOLUNTEER.   Willow has many opportunities for involvement.  One can help in the classroom or during an event, chair a committee, or serve on the board as an elected officer.  Just contact the PTA for more information.
  3. SUPPORT WILLOW'S FUNDRAISERS. The PTA uses funds to enrich our children's educational experience, through programs, class field trips, assemblies, classroom materials, library resources, computer resources, an annual gift to the school, and much more.  We raise these funds through our Fun Run, Box Tops Collection, See's Candies Sales, Vons eScript, and Recycling.
